Panel 2: “Long pig,” of course, being “an antiquated term for human flesh eaten by cannibals.” 

Panel 3: Gotta say, I’d have preferred some longer shots of ol’ Willy Pete than the close-ups I used for most of this sequence; but then again, not like we would see much detail of his figure in such shots, given that he’s always seen as an indistinct jumble of fire-based visual riffs.

Panel 5: Arguably the harshest of all Willy Pete’s fairly horrific statements, save perhaps for the nightmare sequence in Empowered vol.1 in which he’s threatening Emp.
