Behold, folks, we’ve returned to the Chinese restaurant setting previously seen in Empowered vol.1’s story “My Dinner with Frank.”
Panel
1: Not fond of those 45-degree-angle “reflection lines”—or whatever the
hell you wanna call them—in the background windows. Those are an
old-school, blatantly stylized and quite frankly hacky way of indicating
window glass, one I long ago picked up from other artists when I was a
yute. Lazy! Then again, I can assure you that I didn’t feel like taking a
more rigorous approach, which might’ve meant drawing the reflections of
Thugboy and Frank—and, even worse, possibly the reflection of the
restaurant interior beyond them, which I deliberately chose this camera
angle—and tight framing—to avoid having to show in the first place.
Panel 4: Note that Thugboy is referring to Emp's speculations about her supersuit affecting her libido, in a scene from the end of an Empowered vol.1 story, "Love Changes Everything."
