Panel 3: The shot of Ocelotina, here, doesn’t quite work, but I appreciate the effort on Past Me’s part. On the other hand, I tend to be far more critical of my artwork when I’m not actually producing it, as I often take an rather Olympian view as a writer (or consumer) and conveniently forget that drawing is often quite frickin’ difficult. Despite my best efforts, I’ve recently botched the artwork in a fair number of panels in Empowered vol. 11; what can I say, other than “this crap is harder than it might look, folks.”

Panel 7: As an upcoming Metatextual Emp chapter break will point out, Ocelotina’s declaration doesn’t necessary apply to real-world comics about bondage-prone superheroines.
