Panel 1: Lord knows, one of my more idiosyncratic (if not self-destructive) traits as an artist is a proclivity for extreme close-up shots of characters’ eyes, even though my art style isn’t quite “fractal” and/or (ahem) “realistic” enough to stand up to such scrutiny. That said, this shot isn’t all that bad, compared to other attempts that went far more badly astray.
Panels 2 and 4: Oddly disturbing use of “Daddy” and “Mommy” here, gotta say.
Also, I’d assume that bedspread is losing its saving throw against fire, if I may wax AD&D 1e. (For the record, as a DM I rarely bothered with the tedious task of checking my players’ many items against damage from fireballs or dragon breath or the like, though that surely would’ve pared down how many magic items they toted along.) BTW, stand by for a far more geektastic AD&D reference in the actual story a few pages from now.
