As much as I dislike the overuse of grid-based layouts per the Watchmen model, gotta say that I honestly don’t think of a 4-panel layout like this to be a grid per se, given how open and spacious its panels feel to me. (Yes, nitpickers, I know this is still a grid, but somehow it doesn’t strike me that way.)

Panel 3: In case you’d forgotten a key scene way back in Empowered vol. 1, Spooky slept with Thugboy well before he’d ever met Emp. Interestingly, this unfortunate incident also connects to Spooky’s divination spells as referred to in panel 1, due to the fact that she apparently hooked up with him based on just such future-prediction magic, in a plot twist I've later decided was a bit of a retroactive stretch.
