Panel 1: In case you’d forgotten, Major Havoc is wearing a cast on his hand due to a painful incident from the end of Empowered vol. 4, in which an alien parasite grievously wounded the Superhomey’s depowered hand. Given Havoc’s understandably serious lack of popularity among both print and webcomic readers, you might want to pop back to that page if you care to see the Major terrified and in pain.

That said, I swear to God that Havoc does, in fact, have his fans—or at least readers who think he’s hawt, which he would no doubt see as one and the same. No, really, I’ve heard from a few folks who do kinda appreciate him, believe it or not.

Panel 4: Behold, the rarely seen “Emp with exaggeratedly receding chin in profile,” drawn this way because I found it ineffably cute to some degree.

Panel 5: You might keep in mind the terminology used by Havoc in this panel, as it recurs in a different context tomorrow. (Once again, we see the limitations of daily serialization of a story intended to be consumed 200 pages at a time.)
