Panel 2: Well, what did ol’ Willy Pete expect, given how enthusiastically he lashed out earlier? May well be the case that planning and forethought are not this particular supervillain’s strong suit.

Panel 5: Note that the “Judas Moose” reference dates back to much earlier in the volume, when Major Havoc mentioned that MIndf**k’s telepathy could apparently “be fooled by exotic ****, such as alternate personalities or neurocamouflage… as in the Judas Moose incident”.

Without waxing too SPOILERiffic, the wacky nature of Willy Pete’s peculiar mind—or, more to the point, how it came to exist—becomes a rather significant plot point later on in the series.
