Panel 2: Rather an odd face—or mouth, at least—in this Ninjette close-up. Still, the image arguably works with her teasing dialogue, I suppose.

Panel 3: Note that the word “impertinaceous” is the only vocabulary word in this entire epic that was wholly new to me. (A lifetime of fairly voracious reading and a misspent childhood of spelling-bee prep will do wonders for the ol’ vocabulary.) You learn something new every day, kids!

Wellp, that’s it for the epic—and epically Overdialogued—episode “When Titans Fornicate,” folks. No doubt you either enjoyed it or intensely disliked it, as the All-Seeing Autarch’s alliterative assault is far and away the most divisive element of the entire series. (The two most frequent complaints I get about Empowered: “too much Demonwolf” and “not enough Demonwolf.”)

Next up is one my favorite stories from the volume, “I Know How Much You Love Blondes,” which traces the arc of the ill-fated relationship between Sistah Spooky and Mindf**k.
