Panels 3 & 4: In retrospect, I wish I’d burned a few more pages on this sequence, and shown at least a few images of the “wish granters,” as a tatted-up indie Athena and a nuclear genie would’ve been interesting to depict. As for the DMT “machine elves,” well, paging Terence McKenna; gotta say, those suckers would not be all that much fun to draw, judging by most depictions of ’em.

However, the mundane settings for these encounters would’ve been much more tiresome to figure out, not to mention having to character-design civilian versions of all the superheroes. Ehh, so maybe it’s just as well that I didn’t expand this scene.
