So, this week on the commentary I’m addressing a frequently asked (and almost as frequently answered) question: “Why don’t we ever see Emp’s supersuit fully intact?”

A while back, commenters pointed out an interesting in-universe explanation: Namely, that Emp no longer waits for the suit to fully regenerate itself before she boldly charges back off into danger. Once upon a time, presumably, she did wait until the hypermembrane could fully regrow itself into full-intact status before going out on further superheroic (mis)adventures, but now that she can see that the suit still functions reasonably well while tattered, she doesn’t bother with such overly cautious practices. (As we’ll see someday soon, Emp’s assumptions about how much surface area the suit requires for superpower usage turn out to be a bit off-base.)

I might someday go back and show a brief flashback of Emp in the old days, stewing and fretting in frustration while watching the supersuit slowly, ever-so-slowly weave itself back together. Nowadays, by contrast, she’s giving no f**ks and just yanking on however much of the suit is available before blazing into action.

An Empowered vol.1 line claims that the suit takes 8-12 hours to regenerate. Howeva, as we’ll see in tomorrow’s commentary, a caveat or two lurks within that timeframe.

Today’s Patreon update: As it’s a Wednesday, time for the $5+ Patron tiers to get their weekly dose of commissioned damsel-in-distress content! This time around, we’re serializing a story fragment featuring familiar lasses in a fantasy RPG-ish setting (complete with tavern-wenchly costumes), running afoul of another familiar lass. Technically, this is a highly unofficial crossover of two different properties I’ve worked on. (Hint, hint.)
