So, this week on the commentary I’m addressing a frequently asked (and almost as frequently answered) question: “Why don’t we ever see Emp’s supersuit fully intact?”

Picking up from yesterday, an early Empowered story states that the suit regenerates itself within 8-12 hours. Ah, but does it regenerate itself fully within that timeframe? That might not be the case, which is another (in-universe) reason we rarely see the undamaged hypermembrane.

I like the idea that the suit’s regrowth operates more or less like the recharging of my Apple Pencil, in that the suit can restore itself to functional usability in a relatively short timeframe, but getting to a full “100%” status is much more time-consuming. In fact, a few lines in future installments of the ongoing Patreon prose experiment I Am Empowered will address this very issue, if I recall correctly.
