Panel 5: I’ve long used the two-stage “KRAK KOOM” for the sound FX of a peal of thunder. For verisimilitude, I’d also occasionally use that odd “SNAPP” that one hears when lightning flashes relatively close, before the booming KRAK KOOM of the thunderclap immediately follows. (I live on top of a wooded hill that often experiences alarming thunderstorms; perhaps one day I should tell you how my g-d save on Super Metroid was wiped by a close lightning strike, even though the g-d cartridge was still on the shelf and not plugged into the SNES. Or how an oak tree five feet from this house was split open by a lightning strike sixty-odd years ago.)

Here, the thunder-style KRAK KOOM is used to theoretically convey the sound of air rushing back into the space vacated by the (very large) teleported mass.

Today’s Patreon update: As it’s a Wednesday, time for the $5+ Patron tiers to get their weekly dose of commissioned damsel-in-distress content! This time around, we’re finishing up serialization of a story fragment featuring a familiar lass in an unfamiliar outfit—and in peril, of course.
