Note that, nowadays, I always try to tack on to these Meta Emp epilogue pages the clarification that “The End,” in this context, means only the ending of this particular Empowered volume, not the entire series. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve had people online tell me that they thought the series had wrapped up rather a while ago, thanks to these inadvertently deceptive closing words. 

Next Monday, time for the ol’ SPOILER-iffic back cover illo for Empowered vol. 6, before we move on to serialization of vol. 7 (aka “the one with all the ninjas”) on Tuesday. Quite a few people die in that upcoming volume—some of ’em quite horribly—which might not fulfill Emp’s request that the series take a “less-death-y” turn.
