Panel 1: Aaaaaaaaand we’re back to the flashback timeframe of the “cape karaoke” scene. (Worry not, webcomic readers, as we’ll return to the present-tense Ayakami fight before too long.)

The background song reference to Jim Carroll’s “People Who Died” is a tad on-the-nose for a scene involving the tragically deceased Mindf**k, but what can I say, folks? Sometimes subtlety is overrated, IMHO.

Panel 3: Aaaaaaaaand we’re back to the (sub)setting of Spooky’s crappiest memories, where a mnemonic projection of Mindf**k has inserted herself.

Panel 5: Uh, oh.

Today’s Patreon update: Open slot in the weekly schedule today! Not sure what I’ll be posting, but something will go up today. I’ve been posting every weekday (sometimes multiple times per day) on this Patreon for over a year, so why stop now?

UPDATE to the Patreon update: This turned out to be a very, very technical post on the use of alternating "art-only" and "text-only" panels in grid-based comics layouts, complete with examples and a whole bunch of tests of different grids.
