Panels 1 & 2: Behold, another one of Thugboy’s firearms-related T-shirts. This time, he’s sporting the famous arrows ’n’ circles logo of Beretta, which a little research showed me is not, in fact, a trident, as I erroneously thought. Whoops!

Panels 1 & 2: Behold, also, another g-d appearance by Thugboy’s Ruger P89 semiautomatic pistol, which over the years has turned out to be a nightmarish ordeal to draw, thanks to its maddening array of bevels, angles, scallops, slopes & assorted design details.

Why couldn’t I have geared him out with a nice, boxy, simple-to-draw Glock? Wellp, I chose the P89 because I thought it would be easily referenced—if you catch my drift!—but instead I bought myself another decade of drawing challenges.

Dear readers, you have no idea how happy I was that the g-d Ruger finally bounced off a rooftop at the end of Empowered vol. 11. Adieu, P89! Alas, not long after drawing that scene, I watched the Breaking Bad: El Camino flick on Netflix, and lo and behold, there’s Jesse shoving a g-d Ruger P89’s muzzle right in the camera. Needless to say, I twitched in torment upon seeing all those bevels, angles, scallops & slopes up close and personal once again.

Panel 5: Only now did I perceive an interesting aspect of the sleeping arrangement between Ninjette and the Caged Demonwolf. More on this matter in tomorrow’s webcomic commentary, folks!

Today’s Patreon update: As it’s a Wednesday, time for the $5+ Patron tiers to get their weekly dose of commissioned damsel-in-distress content, along the lines of the same material was eventually reworked into Empowered. (No idea what as to exactly that might be at this time, though; these commentaries are written much further out from posting than are my often last-minute Patreon updates.)
