Panel 3: Note that this is the source for the seemingly cryptic panel from waaaaay back in “Time’s Arrow, Flying Differently,” Empowered vol. 7’s opening chapter that was chock full o’ preview images from later in the volume. Alas, I’ve been tragically amiss in flagging such “Time’s Arrow” moments as they’ve appeared in the webcomic; I’ll try to do better, folks.

Note also that, while the image of duct-taped Emp at left is fairly generic, the chained and gagged Ninjette is a specific reference to her dire state of distress at the hands of the first Ayakami cohort from the end of Empowered vol. 3.
