Panel 1: Folks, enjoy the rarely seen te-yari, a short spear that was supposedly part of the ninja’s arsenal. Alas, the poor thing’s not exactly the most exciting and evocative of shinobi weapons, so it’s hardly ever depicted in ninja-infested fiction.

Panel 3: The Badass Sundress Waif drops in! Not that the Ayakami she’s landing on would object too strongly, as the Waif clearly doesn’t weigh very much. Bantamweight ninjas, ahoy! (Or perhaps “atomweight” per the Wiki page on boxing weight classes, though that particular term sounds oddly superhero-ish.)

Panel 6: And now, with tomorrow’s page, brace yourselves for an abrupt scene change and a jump backwards in time! Empowered vol. 7 features a genuinely extreme amount of abrupt scene changes and time jumps, so you’d best get used to it, folks; OTOH, my condolences, as I realize that this serialization format is singularly ill-suited to webcomic readers being able to follow this volume’s incessant temporal hijinks. Oh, well.
