Panel 1: Pouty-Lipped Emp ahoy! I’m vaguely surprised this riff was still in effect as late as Empowered vol. 7, as I could’ve sworn its frequency was dropping off by this point in the series. Gotta say, though, that I like the less pouty, more “squiggly-lipped” expression on Ninjette’s face.

Panel 2: I’m also mildly surprised that the sporadically appearing stylistic riff of “cartoonishly large head on smaller body” was still prominent in my work at this time, as seen on Ninjette’s figure proportions in this panel.

Re: the Goddamn Maidman’s state of en déshabillé, by extreme coincidence on this (weekend) workday I happen to be drawing an Empowered vol. 12 page featuring a line of dialogue directly referring to “costume damage.”
