Volume 7 Page 30

Not a lot to say about this page, so I thought I’d devote a few days to blitherin’ about the state of the webcomic—starting with how much time it takes me to post the dang thing.

To save the hassle of wheedling jpegs outta Dark Horse, I just snag copies of the digital versions of each volume off Dark Horse Digital or Comixology, then take screenshots of each page with my tablet. Relaying the screenshots for a week’s worth of pages over to my PC and then reformatting ’em for the webcomic takes about half an hour. Uploading the images to the Hiveworks server in the process of prepping and scheduling five weekdays of comics takes another half an hour.

The real time-killer is writing the individual page commentaries, which takes at least an hour per week, sometimes ranging up to 1.5 or two hours if I’m being especially verbose. Might have to cut back on these commentaries someday, folks, as free time for ’em could wind up in short supply down the road. (More on this in a future commentary.)

Panel 6: Say, who could that be?

Today’s Patreon update: As it’s a Wednesday, time for the $5+ Patron tiers to get their weekly dose of commissioned damsel-in-distress content! This time around, we’re (probably) serializing a story fragment featuring a familiar lass imperiled by the goofy yet numerous Pint-Size(d) Ninja Platoon.
