Panel 3: Not only does this shot of Sistah Spooky feature the cartoony stylistic flourish of “big head, narrow shoulders” that I indulged in periodically a decade ago, but it also boasts the old-style riff of “extreme underbite” that sporadically appeared in my older work. A two-fer of now largely discarded artistic riffs, folks!

Panel 4: Big Pouty Lips ahoy once more! (Apparently this riff doesn’t start fading away until Empowered vol. 8… maybe. I’m no longer quite sure exactly when this artistic flourish’s appearances began dropping in frequency.)
