Panel 1: Enjoy my patented meaningless techy riffs on those display screens, folks! Pretty sure I originated this particular techy flourish with the "cyberspace" scenes in 1992's Dirty Pair: SimHell, though maaaaybe it dates back to the previous miniseries, A Plague of Angels.

Panel 6: Ughh. You can tell from the horizon line in this shot that the top of Emp's head is at the same height as the top of Spooky's head, an error that bugs me to no end; see, Spooky should frickin' tower over Emp due to the high-heeled platform shoes the latter's costume features. (Not that you can see said shoes in this shot.) Oh, well.

If I'd ever bothered to do a height comparison chart for Empowered's cast, this error could've been avoided. Alas, I never did so, and probably never will, as I've staggered through almost 12 volumes—in fact, almost 15, counting Guest Artist-drawn projects—without working up such a chart.
