Panel 2: Yyyyeah, most of the time in this story Ghost Writer's helmet is (mis)depicted as just too g-d small, for an effect not unlike the excessively wee heads of the clone troopers in a certain prequel trilogy, which always bugged me a fair bit. (Oh, well.)

Panels 4-5: This part of the scene was a bit of a semi-"meta" flourish on my part, as the series that Emp inhabits is no less tainted and left out of serious consideration (in any number of senses of the term) than the in-universe character. "Not that I am bitter," as Dave Barry used to say.
