I advise Empowered readers to enjoy the mysterious steel claws Ninjette sports in panels 1 and 2, which seem rather more akin to Wolverine-ware than the so-called tekko-kagi tools supposedly used by the shinobi. These claws vanish completely after this scene, and have never, ever reappeared in the series’ next thousand-odd pages. (No, wait, I think that one of Ninjette’s foes rocks similar claws during Empowered vol. 7’s epic ninja fight, roughly 1200 pages out. My point still stands!)
