Panel 2: Note that the “Apocalypse Clique” referred to here were briefly glimpsed as a set of action figures way back in Empowered vol. 1. 

And yeahp, there’s the title of our story—“Who’s Da Übermensch.” Then again, almost all of Empowered’s chapter titles are derived from unplanned lines of character dialogue that catch my fancy; I rarely, if not possibly never, have a title in mind until I’m well into or actually finished with the story in question.

Panel 3: The background image of Protean (aka “Glorpp”) and Mechzacoatl doing a chest bump of sorts still amuses me perhaps more than it should.
