Panel 1: In retrospect, I think that this may be the only time that the term "bargain baby" gets used in this volume, even though the currently mysterious phenomenon that the slang describes is explained in some detail later on in the book.  Perhaps this is Rivet's personal favorite term for what they're discussing?

Panel 4: Not 100% sure that the joke about the different characters' varying approaches to "punching up" the same line of dialogue is all that clear to the reader—but, hey, I made myself laugh, which is half the battle (as the great Craig Ferguson used to say on his sadly defunct late-night TV show).
