Panels 1 & 2: An interesting approach, here, as we see an extremely rare example of my beloved but very cartoony “profile cheat” used twice in successive panels. Note that you can kinda see the limitations of the ol’ “profile cheat” in effect, as it’s quite clear that the profiled Emp and Ninjette aren’t directly facing each other. That’s why I’ve moved away from use of this shot in my current-day work, as its over-the-top artificiality bugs me much more than it used to for reasons I can’t quite explain.
Panel 3: Not a huge SPOILER, I think, to speculate that Ninjette miiiiight be mistaken in that assumption.
