Note the sudden transitions between the "blushing Emp mask" in panels 1 & 4 and the high-contrast "regular mask" in panels 2 & 3 (and then a sustained appearance of the "blushing mask" in panel 5). The blushing version became more or less a default for a while, but in recent years I've been cutting back on its usage.

Panel 4: So apparently this was where the censoring of the word "bitch" began, though it might've started earlier in a one-shot. (Not sure, TBH.)

Panel 5: Note that this combo of fighting moves appeared previously during Emp's training session with Ninjette back in Empowered vol. 7. (You, ah, might keep this combo in mind for future reference.)

Today’s Patreon update: In an attempt to scratch out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design departments, or possibly something entirely new. Golly!
