Panel 2: Oof! The fingers on that Thugboy hand just didn’t work out, I’m afraid. Hands and finger are tough, folks—though nowhere near as tough as feet and toes, which are the worst.

Panel 4: Fiery, skullf**king supervillain Willy Pete returns—in a rather undignified manner, I admit—after last being seen in a nightmare sequence in Empowered vol. 1. No, wait, he briefly appeared again near the end of the book, as I recall.

Note that I’ve transitioned Willy Pete into a pencil-based rendering, as opposed to the Sharpie-ink-based depictions seen in vol. 1. Later on in the series, I’d switch over again to a combination of the two artistic approaches, as this all-pencil technique wound up putting too much stress on my drawing hand when dealing with his blazing appearance.
